You Play, You Pay

There will be affliction and turmoil for every soul of man who works out evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, but glory and honor and peace to everyone who works good, to the Jew first and also the Greek. For there is no partiality with God.     Romans 2:9-11 LSB

Romans chapter 2 speaks of the difference between those who don’t obey God and those who do. It speaks of what we can expect when we disobey God. God is a just God and He is going to judge us for our sin. When we are unrepentant and stubborn and willfully sin, we can expect a harsh judgment. Paul says in verse 5, “But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.” Paul makes is very clear in Romans chapter 2 that for those of us who disobey God and have unrepentant hearts, we can expect God’s wrath and anger. We are literally provoking God to anger. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to do that.

We are told in Hebrews 10:31 that it is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of a living God. Of course, if we back up to Hebrews 10:26 that is where we are told that for those of us who sin deliberately, we can no longer expect a sacrifice for our sins but a terrifying expectation of judgment.

There are people who are appalled at the opening ceremony of the Olympics. I am appalled, but I can’t say I am surprised. We have become a nation even a world that applauds sin.

Things we wouldn’t even speak of we now flaunt and demand our rights to do so. What is this world coming to you ask. Well, it’s coming to an end. In Genesis 6:5 it says that God saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually and God regretted that He had made man on earth, and He was grieved in His heart. He sent a global flood to judge the world. Everyone died except Noah and his family.

Shameful behavior brings God’s wrath. If you believe you can sin and get away with it, you are lying to yourself. If you want to party and play and rebel against His word, go ahead, but understand you will pay a heavy price for it for eternity.

I ask you, is this life of sin worth it? Well, I guess you will have to decide.

I believe Jesus is coming back soon because of the way things are going here. I know these things are upsetting to God and I wonder just how long He will let them go on. They are getting progressively worse, which leads me to believe things will be way better really soon. By this, I mean God will come to judge the living and the dead and we will be in our forever homes.

Now, I spent many years in sin. I am not here to judge anyone. There came a time in my life, however, when I realized God was not going to overlook my sin. He was going to judge me harshly for it. Praise God, He provided a way out through His Son Jesus Christ. I chose to let go of my sin and turn to Jesus.

When God comes to judge us, we will no longer have a choice of whether we go to spend eternity in heaven or spend eternity in hell. God will decide based on our behavior and whether we were obedient or disobedient. I beg of you while you still have the choice to choose wisely. Let go of any sin in your life. Give your life to Him. Trust in Him and obey Him. Love Him with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind.

No one knows when He is going to return, but when He does it will be too late. Get right with God now. Those who make a mockery of Christianity have an eternity of doom waiting for them. Make sure you don’t go down with them.

Have a great day!
