Will You Be Saved or Sorry?

As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be.  For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark.  They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away.  So this is the way of the coming of the Son of Man will be:  Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one left.  Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one left.  Therefore, be alert since you don’t know what day your Lord is coming.  But know this if the homeowner had known what time the thief was coming, he would have stayed alert and not let his house be broken into.

This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.  Matthew 24:37-44 HCSB

This scripture passage references the story of Noah.  You see God instructed Noah to build this huge ark.  He instructed him to get his family onto the ark  because the world had become so corrupt and Noah was the only God fearing man left.  So God spared Noah and his family and made sure that each species of animal could reproduce and carry on after the flood.  Now most people thought Noah was nuts to build an ark when this area had never flooded before.  But Noah just kept on keeping on until that ark was completed to God’s specifications.  And all the other people just kept on partying and having a good time thinking poor old Noah was one fry shy of a happy meal.  But then the flood came.  All those that had partied hearty were washed away and Noah and his family were spared and kept safe on the ark until the flood waters receded.

And then, Jesus tells them that if they knew when the thief was coming they would have been alert.  If your neighborhood burglar would call to make an appointment and say to you, “hey, I’m gonna come steal all your stuff next Tuesday at 5am”, that would give you a chance to be prepared right?  But unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way.

You see, the same goes with the second coming of Christ and physical death.  None of us have any idea when we will die or when Jesus will return for us.  But the good news is that we can choose to be ready.  We can choose to be prepared to meet our Lord and Savior.  We can be prepared to go before the judgment throne.

The really good thing is that just as God gave Noah exact specifications for how the ark should be built, he gives us detailed instructions for how we should live.  They are found in the bible.  The bible covers how we should handle ourselves in every situation that we may face.  Finding a good bible teaching local church is a good way to study the bible and get a better understanding of what is in there.  It also brings you into the fellowship of other Christians who are hopefully on their way to heaven as well.

I have lived like those people during Noah’s time and I thank God that He didn’t come for me then.  I thank God that he gave me the time to get my act together.  I now use each and every day to focus on the Lord and try my best to please Him. Do I mess up at times? Sure I do, but I am in close relationship with my Lord and Savior. So when I do mess up He convicts me right away.  I then repent and ask Him to help me to keep from making the same mistake again.  He wants to do the same for you.  Won’t you let him before it’s too late and you are swept away?

We are told that after the rapture there will be a time of tribulation and those that aren’t taken up in the rapture will have a chance to turn to God.  But know this, after the rapture takes place the devil will be given reign over the earth.  Let’s be honest with ourselves.  If we can’t worship God while He is ruling the earth and helping us to stand against the devil, do you really think we  will be able to be true to God while the devil is running things and God has departed?  Do you think you can fight the devil on your own if you chose not to resist  the devil while God was right there to help you?  What I am saying is that it will be all but impossible for anyone to survive and be saved throughout this time of tribulation.  The time is now my friend, I hope that you are ready.  When we are called up to heaven we will either be saved or be sorry.  I hope that you will be saved, the choice is yours for now.

Have a great day!
