What Will You Do in 2024?

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths.    Proverbs 3:5-6 HCSB

Well, it’s finally here, 2024. Perhaps by now, you’ve opened all the gifts celebrated with all your friends and family and maybe even put away the Christmas decorations. You probably also have made some plans for the new year. I’m not talking about resolutions, but simply plans. Maybe you have made some travel plans or perhaps like our family you are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new family member.

You may be considering a career change or retirement. There are things we plan for and things that happen which are unexpected, and we have no control over.

Whatever you do in 2024, I pray that the Lord is with you. I pray that you use today’s Scripture passage as a guide and trust in Him with all your heart. I pray that you never rely on your own understanding but consider Him in all you do. This will help you enter into this year with wisdom. Proverbs 3:7 says we should never consider ourselves wise in our own eyes. This means without God we have no wisdom. We must trust in Him to guide us in the way we should go.

If you have never surrendered your life to Christ and simply let go and surrendered to God’s control, you don’t know what you are missing. Surrendering sounds like becoming enslaved, but actually it’s a very freeing experience.

My prayer for you in this new year is that you wholeheartedly commit to Him.

If you are not currently involved in a Bible study, I encourage you to find a good one and get involved. Give God a few minutes of your busy day. Start your day by trusting in Him, studying His word, and in prayer acknowledging Him in all your ways. Ask Him to guide you each and every day. You will be so glad you did.

And those are my tips for having a happy new year. You’re welcome.

Have a great day!
