Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 HCSB
Four years ago, I wrote a blog titled “What is this world coming to?” I started by talking about school shootings and the frequency with which we were seeing such things. Well, here we are four years later and instead of getting better it has gotten worse.
Gas prices are increasing at an alarming rate. This is causing inflation on everything else. These price increases are on things that are a necessity. We are seeing rising cost on our utility bills. Even our water bill has doubled.
Our Scripture passage tells us not to rely on our own understanding. When we think things look really bad, we must trust God. It is important that we acknowledge Him in all we do. We must understand that there are consequences to not acknowledging God in all we do. Romans 1:28-32 says because they did not acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. They are filled with unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving and unmerciful. Although they knew full well God’s just sentence-that those who practice such things deserve to die-they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them. Now if any of that sounds familiar, it lines up with 2 Timothy 3:1-5, which says that in the end times men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, without love for what is good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding on to the form of godliness but denying its power. We are told to avoid these people.
Four years ago, things were looking bad. Since then, we have had Covid, massive inflation, and an alarming rise in criminal activity. But yet we still honor the LBGTQ. We encourage children to be confused about their gender. We applaud abortion rights. We have ceased to acknowledge God. God’s word is an instruction book for our lives, it’s not suggestions but commandments on how we should live our lives. We should acknowledge Him in all we do. We should give Him glory, honor and praise in the way we live our day to day lives.
I truly believe we are in the end times. I believe this inflation is setting things up for the tribulation and the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:15-18). I am a pre-tribulation believer. I believe before it gets that bad, we will be raptured out of here. I believe this will be soon. We know that only God Himself knows when that will be. But we must be ready. Are you ready?
Do you acknowledge Him in all you do? Or are you holding on to idols? Are you spending more time on social media or consulting your friends or watching tv than you are praying to Him? Are you trusting in anything but Him? Have you surrendered your life to Him and are you doing what He has called you to do? My friend these may be all questions that we will answer before the Great White Throne of Judgment if we don’t get it right down here. We need to get it all straightened out now.
My friend often quotes Isaiah 5:20 which begins by saying, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil.” In Answers in Genesis Ken Hamm says that we are to let the Bible interpret the Bible. Well, this is clearly what is done with Proverbs 3:5-6 when we are told to acknowledge God and Romans 1:28-32 when we are told the penalty for failing to acknowledge Him. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us that in the end times we will see the results of those who have failed to acknowledge God and surrender their lives to Him.
I beg of you to surrender your life to God before it’s too late. I beg of you to start doing the work He has called you to do. We don’t know it’s going to get really bad, know that Romans 8:28 promises that all things work for the good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose which means doing the work He has called them to do. Don’t put it off, tomorrow may be too late.
Have a great day!
