This is What We Know

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 LSB

There are things we know and things we don’t. As Christians, we know the Bible is the truth. We can trust in God’s word. We know that God loved us so much that He sent His son to die for us so that for those who believe in Him, they should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). We know that we are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), therefore we are in need of a Savior. We also know that God demonstrated His great love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

God’s love is unconditional, He loves us no matter what. There are conditions, however, on His protection and His provision for our lives. For example, Psalm 91 tells us we must choose to live in His shelter in verse 1. Matthew 6:33 says that if we focus on Him and put Him first in our lives, He will provide all we need.

Our Scripture passage for today doesn’t say that all things always work out for the good of us all. No, it says we know that all things work for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. As Christians, we may go through hard times, but we can rest assured that God’s got this if we love Him and are called according to His purpose.

If we love the Lord, we love as He commanded us to love Him with all our heart, all our strength and all our mind (Matthew 22:37). When we love the Lord in this way, it is obvious to those around us because we exhibit the fruits of the spirit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23. These fruits include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Being called according to His purpose means we are doing the work He has called us to do. It means we are serving Christ by doing His work and serving others.

The most important thing we need to know is that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

God has provided the way of Salvation for us. We must accept it, however, in order to be called a child of God. We must accept Christ as our Savior. God provides well for His children. He provides for our needs and protects us. He works all things out for our good.

These are the things we know. If you want the worst things in your life to ultimately work together for your good, trust in Him today. If you believe in Him and believe in His Holy Word, you know He is the only way.

For the Christian, tough times is simply a training ground. It’s an opportunity for growth. Getting through these times with God’s help makes us stronger and better equipped to serve Him.

We know He works all things together for our good if we do our part by loving Him and doing what He has called us to do.

If you know nothing else, I hope you know these basic truths found in God’s word.

He loves you and He wants the best for you, but you must accept the awesome gift He has provided for you. Don’t delay.

Have a great day!
