“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.”

Yesterday we talked about being born again. Perhaps this is something that is weighing on your mind. Perhaps you have been born again recently and are a “baby Christian” just beginning to walk with Christ. Maybe you have been born again many years ago, but feel that your walk with Christ has been at a standstill. Once you dedicate or rededicate yourself to a life in Christ, you must realize that you are a new creation.
Have you ever had a brand new car? The car is shiny with a perfect paint job. The interior is pristine. You want to keep it that way, right. So you regularly wash it. You park it in a spot where it is least likely to get dings and dents. You take care of it and you try to keep it looking and smelling new for as long as possible.
Think of the devil as that vandal who is out there to open his door into yours, crash his shopping cart into the side of your car, and throw a 32 ounce soft drink into your interior. The devil wants to crash our walk with Christ.
It is extremely important at this stage to be on guard. Be careful about what you take in. Use discretion in what you see and hear. If trash is going in, trash will be coming out. Be careful what you say. Follow the golden rule, treat others as you would like to be treated.
All of this sounds like a lot to keep track of, I know, but fortunately for us there is an instruction manual and a coach included in this “new life” program. The Holy Bible has instructions for everything we may face. It even has stories which tell about those that handled things the right way and those that didn’t do so well. Best of all is the fact that we have an open line of communication with our creator, God himself, through his Son, Jesus Christ.
If you are new in your walk with Christ be sure to daily read your instruction manual and keep in close contact with Jesus through prayer. If you are more experienced, make yourself available to mentor the “baby” Christian so that they may grow strong and healthy in Christ.
Have a wonderfully blessed day!
