“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 KJV

Have you ever heard anyone say, “life is hard, then you die”. Well for Christians it’s different. Life is hard then you live forever in glory.
As a child I grew up singing “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so”.
In Sunday school I memorized John 3:16. As an adult, when I ponder the meaning behind that verse it boggles the mind. God loved me and everyone else in this world so much, that he sent his one and only Son to earth to be mocked, ridiculed, and crucified so that I might have the opportunity to live with him forevermore in heaven when my life on earth is finished. What’s even more mind boggling is that God knows me. He knows that I have sinned, he knows what sins I have committed, and he still loves me.
I remember being saved as a child, I believe I was 12 when I accepted Christ as my savior and was baptized. I stayed in church but years later I got into a sinful lifestyle and stayed there for quite some time. On August 22,2010 I literally had a “come to Jesus” moment in my backyard. I cried out to God and asked him why my life was in such turmoil. I blamed everybody but me. I asked him to change those people in my life that were causing me trouble. God immediately let me know that it was the sinful choices I had made in my life that were causing me trouble. He let me know that if I would just trust him completely that he would handle everything else. I agreed then and there to do that. Before that day was over it was as if someone had turned my life upside down. Within the next few days I realized that God had turned my life upside down. He did this to shake out all the bad stuff. He hadn’t pulled my world apart, he had just pulled out the bad stuff. He had to shake the doubt, the bitterness, the anger, and the negativity out. As I established a much closer relationship with him through bible study and prayer, he replaced it with trust, hope, peace, and joy.
The love that God has for each and every one of us is beyond what the human mind can fathom. The beautiful thing is that all we have to do to receive the benefits of His love is believe in His son, Jesus Christ and accept him as our Lord and savior.
It is my prayer for you today that you have accepted Jesus as your savior and already feel the peace and comfort of being wrapped in His loving arms. If you have not had that experience, however, and don’t know how to start feel free to contact me through this website and I will be glad to guide you through that process. Have a wonderful weekend!
