He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all; how will He not also with Him grant us everything? Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the One who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the One who died, but even more, has been raised; He also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.
Romans 8:32-35 HCSB
I am guilty of reading Scripture and not taking the time or the effort to fully understand it’s meaning. I don’t take time to reflect on the magnitude of what it is saying. But as I read this verse, I was in awe. We are told in John 3:16 that God loved us so much He sent His one and only Son to die for us so we might have eternal life. Jesus could have called the angels down and aborted the whole mission, but because of His great love for us, He died for us. Take a minute to wrap your head around that. Stop thinking about the distractions the devil has put in your way right this minute and think about this. God loved you so much He sent His Son to die for you.
We are His children, but what will you do with this information? Will you continue to let the devil distract you? Will you continue to worry and fret about things only God can change? Will you continue to deny Him before your friends and/or your family? What will you do with the knowledge that He gave His only Son to die for you?
I pray you will accept it. I pray you will surrender to Him and submit to Him knowing this is what is best for you because no one will ever love you more than He does. No one will ever care for you the way He does. He stands there with arms outstretched wanting you to come to Him. Will you? Or will you continue living your life your way and hoping He will just go along with it?
Now what Paul is saying in this Scripture is if God offered His Son as a sacrifice for our sins, will He withhold any good thing from us? Think about that. He has already given us the best He has to offer.
Paul goes on to say who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? We are blood bought children of God. Once we accept Him as our Savior and surrender our lives to Him, we are His. Who can come against us (Romans 8:31)? Who can bring an accusation against us? We are His. He is the One who justifies.
Jesus Christ died for us, was raised from the dead and sits at the right hand of God the Father. He intercedes for us, and no one can separate us from His love. How awesome is that?
This is why it is so important to study the Bible and not simply read it. It’s mind boggling to think that Jesus could love miserable sinners like you and me so much, but He does. God’s holy word is His love letter to us. Read it. Study it. Wrap your head around what is truly being said. Try to understand just how much He loves you. Maybe then you will do all you can to show Him that you love Him just as much.
Have a great weekend!
