Guarded By Angels

For He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways. They will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.     Psalm 91:11-12 HCSB

It’s good to have gates and cameras and perhaps even a guard dog or two. However, none of those things will protect you like God’s angels.

To get the protection of a camera, you must install it. The same goes with a gate or an alarm system. If you have a guard dog, of course they require food and water and veterinary care. All of these things can be costly to maintain.

So, what is the cost to have God’s own angels guarding us? Well, it costs us a decision. We must choose to live in the shelter God provides. We are told in Psalm 91:1-2 that the one who lives under the protection of the Most High dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. If we choose to live under God’s protection, we will reside in His shadow. In verse 2 it tells us He will be our refuge and our fortress. In verse 4, it tells us He will cover us with His feathers, and we will take refuge under His wings and His faithfulness with be like a protective shield.

In times of worry and concern, I always find reading the Psalms comforting. Psalms 4:8 says, “I will both lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, LORD, make me live in safety.” It’s good to know we can lie down and sleep in peace knowing God’s got his angels guarding us.

In Psalm 23:4 David said, “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.:

We will go through trying times. We will suffer through trials and tribulations, but when you are going through these times, you can rest assured, God’s got you. Lean on Him for comfort and support when you face these difficult times. Trust in Him to take good care of you.

As a Christian the worst thing that can happen is we can die and the best thing that can happen is we can die. When we die, we go to heaven, it’s a win/win situation. This is why Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:7-8, “For we walk by faith, not by sight, and we are confident and satisfied to be out of the body and at home with the Lord.”

When we accept Christ as our Savior, we gain citizenship in heaven. We are just passing through this planet earth. For trip protection, trust in Him. When we choose to live in His protective embrace, He gives His angels orders concerning us. Isn’t that comforting? Knowing we can trust in Him no matter what comes our way.

If you are concerned about your security or your family’s security, I encourage you to turn to God. Trust in Him. Ask Him to form a hedge of protection around you and your loved ones.

There is nothing wrong with gates, alarms, cameras and I certainly love dogs, but put your trust in God. All of these things can fail you, but God never will.

Have a great day!
