God’s Armor

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Isn’t it awesome that we don’t have to fight the devil in our strength and our power? You see the devil is always scheming. He’s always trying to find ways to bring us down and steal our peace and joy.

As Christians, we rely on God’s strength and God’s power. In His power we are strong enough to stand against whatever schemes the devil uses against us. We must remember also, that we do not fight against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil. It’s easy to become angry with a person and launch a personal attack against them. But we must remember that the devil uses people to come against us and carry out his evil schemes. Sadly, the person being used often has no idea that the devil is using them. They may even believe that they are in God’s will.

Can you imagine someone playing full contact football with no protective gear? Could you envision a catcher in a baseball game behind home plate with no protective gear? What would you think if you saw a soldier rushing into battle with no protection? I could go on and on with this line of questioning, but I’m sure you get the picture.

None of us know what the future holds for us. Our day may be going great and all of a sudden, full attack. Therefore, we must daily put on God’s armor to protect us against whatever the devil may use, or whoever the devil may use to come against us.  This armor is available so why wouldn’t we want this protection? Suit up and have a great day!
