Feel safe?

You will be confident because there is hope.  You will look carefully about and lie down in safety.  You will lie down without fear, and many will seek your favor.  But the sight of the wicked will fail.  Their way of escape will be cut off, and their only hope is their last breath.  Job 11:18-20  HCSB

We live in a world where security and safety are luxuries that even the most wealthy sometimes don’t have.  Those of you who know me, know that  I am totally computer illiterate.  The fact that I was called to do this blog just goes to show how God loves to pull us from our comfort zones and perhaps even has a great sense of humor.

But a few days ago, I realized that my site had been hacked.  Yep, I had things that I certainly did not post, yet they had my name as the author.  I called the company that manages my website only to find that I had to go into several different areas and update passwords.  I was then told that they could sell me something to make my site more secure.

Now I have had these people from escort services going in and commenting on my blogs.  My husband says these are bots.  I don’t even really know what that is.  But to have people posting entire blogs under my name, well I have to admit that really upset me.

When our space is invaded whether it is through a burglary or a website that is hacked.  We loose a sense of security.  We feel hopeless.  I mean when someone can trespass into our own personal spaces, we feel that we have no hope of safety or security.

But our scripture passage today tells us that we can be confident because there is hope.  It tells us that we can lie down in safety and without fear.  It tells us that those that come against us will be the ones to suffer.

There are many scripture passages in the Bible that promise God’s protection over His children.  So, my question today is have you gotten to a point in your life where you feel hopeless and insecure?  Well, know that there is hope and security in a life lived in a close, intimate relationship with your Lord and Savior.

Psalm 16:8 says, I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.  Psalm 122:7 says, Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!  1 John 4:18 says that, There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.  For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

If you want to live fearlessly, then let God lead your steps.  Let God be your pilot, not your co-pilot.  Give it all to Him and trust Him to keep you safe and secure.

Have a great weekend!
