Sin separates us from God

Isaiah 59:1-2  Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear to dull to hear.  But your iniquities have separated you from your God;  your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear.

Have you ever prayed calling out to God for help and felt that he just wasn’t listening?  Did you ever think that maybe you had moved too far away from him so that he could not hear you.  But wait, God is always with us, right?  If anyone has moved, my friend, it is you.  See God never leaves us or forsakes us.  However, our sin separates us from him.

Have you ever been talking to a member of your household and they move farther away so that you cannot hear them?  That’s annoying right?  Well it’s like that with us and God.  You see our sin moves us away from God.  Far enough away that he cannot see our face or hear us according to this scripture passage.

When we pray and God hears us, he responds.  The answer could be no, yes, or not yet.  Either way if you are praying and feel that you are getting no response, you may need a spiritual checkup. Do you have sin in your life that is separating you from God?  If you do, don’t panic. There is an easy fix.  Confess your sins to God. Seek Him with your heart, mind, and soul. You will then be able to draw close to Him.  Close enough for Him to see your face and hear your prayers.

God wants us to be in a close relationship with Him, but he will never force that upon us.  He leaves it open for us to decide.

If you need to be saved and want to know that God hears your prayers and can reach out to save you, let go of your sin and draw near to Him.
