Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the whole earth. He never becomes faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding. He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. Isaiah 40:28-29 HCSB
When it comes to Jesus and the Bible, I am pretty simple minded. By this, I mean that while I will question men and their motives, I blindly and completely trust God’s word. Now there are those of you who may still be skeptical and that’s okay, but let me tell you this. I have lived out enough of my life to have tested the truths in the Bible and they have never failed me. God’s word is true.
However, for those of you that are skeptical, think about this particular scripture passage. I mean if you are the least bit unsure, just look around you. Look at the land, the mountains, the waterways, and the sky. When I see these, I see God’s creation. And in all honesty, the fact that there is a creator that is responsible for all of this makes a whole lot more sense to me than some “Big Bang Theory”. Now as far as the Big Bang Theory, I believe that God said it and “Bang”, there it was.
The human body is an another example of God’s creation. When you look at a newborn baby how can you question whether or not God is real. When you see how the body works, how can you question God? The Bible tells us that before He formed us in the womb, He knew us (Jeremiah 1:5). We are not here by accident, we have a purpose. We were created for a specific purpose.
No matter whether your life is in some type of downward spiral or whether you are flying high, know that God put you here on planet earth for a reason. It’s when we fail to live out that purpose that we have problems or at least that’s the way it was for me.
Just in case you don’t know, there is a God that loves you. He loved you and knew you long before the world came to know you or love you. If you are not feeling loved by the world, know that He loves you. If you feel far away from Him, then look at where you stepped away from Him, because the Bible tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5). When we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). When we love the Lord and seek Him and His purpose in our lives we are promised that all things, even the bad things that happen, will work for our good (Romans 8:28).
If you feel that you are not as close to God as you once were, know that our sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), but also know that His arm is not too short to save us when we get ourselves into trouble (Isaiah 59:3). We are told in 1John 1:9 that if we confess our sins that He is faithful and righteous and will cleanse us and forgive us of our sins.
Take time today to think about your relationship with God. Have you let your sin come between you and the God who loves you more than you can imagine? Do you need to draw near to Him? Do you need to seek His purpose for you in your life? It’s not too late, if you feel far from Him, know that He is only a cry away. Cry out to Him and He will save you.
Don’t you know that He loves you and will take care of you? You just need to put Him first in your life and He will handle all the rest (Matthew 6:33-34). If He can create the heavens and the earth, He can certainly guide your life.
Have a great day!
