But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”  Matthew 19:26 ESV

Ever find yourself in an impossible situation? When I see a situation as impossible, I sometimes start to think about how I can do this or do that. I think about what I need to do or what someone else needs to do. As I think about who and how it can be fixed, my fear tends to mount as I realize it’s impossible. Fear sets in when we realize that we can’t do anything about a situation that may threaten us or those we love.

This is where you need your faith to come in and conquer your fear. Jesus Himself said that all things are possible with God. We know this to be true, it’s in the Bible. Jesus said it. So, why do we fear? Why do we become angry? Why do we find ourselves wanting to step in and do something or wanting someone else to step in and do something? Well, it’s our human fleshly nature, that’s why.

We are taught from an early age to be independent. We are taught not to whine, but to handle our problems ourselves. Parents mean well and it’s a good thing for them to teach their children to be self-sufficient. We must also help children to understand we serve a mighty God. No matter how huge the problem seems to be, He is bigger.

No matter how scary or hopeless a situation may seem, we must have faith that God can handle it and will handle it in the best way possible. We must trust in God’s will even when it differs from our will. When Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane that He would not have to go through the crucifixion, He ended His prayer to God with, “Not my will but thy will be done.”

God gave us one mouth, two eyes, and two ears for a reason. We must look to Him and listen to Him. Give it to God and trust in Him. Stay in constant communication with Him through prayer and Bible study. We are told in Psalm 46:10, “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

We must trust that God will work all things out for our good and His glory if we love Him with all our hearts and do as He calls us to do.

We must also remember Proverbs 3:5-6 which tells us not to lean on our understanding but to acknowledge Him in all we do, and He will guide us on the right path.

We must trust God in all we do. We must be obedient to His commands.

We must remember, when we give it to God, let it go. Maybe you don’t have this problem, but I tend to claim to give it all to God, but I hold on and continue to try to influence the situation. We have to stop this. God will not play tug of war with us. Let it all go and trust God.

And last but not least, get your mind right. Don’t engage in negative thoughts about the situation, this implies a lack of faith. Give it to God and let it go. When those negative thoughts come in, take them captive. We are told in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take every speculation raised up against the knowledge of God and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

Make “God’s got this!” your mantra.

Either we trust God with it, or we don’t. If you are facing a God-sized problem, let it go and give it to Him. It might just be a test to see if you can actually do that. Maybe your faith is being put to the test. This is one test you don’t want to fail.

Whatever you are facing may be impossible for you, but God can handle it. Give it to Him and watch Him work.
