Bringing Him Glory, Honor and Praise

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.    1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV

When we focus on ourselves things become unbalanced. We all know when our life becomes unbalanced, this is not good. Our Scripture passage for today tells us that in all we do we should glorify God.

This means as we go through our day we should do and say the things that bring God glory, honor and praise. How do we do that? Well, I’m glad you asked.

We bring God glory by acknowledging Him in all we do. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to not lean on our own understanding but in all we do to acknowledge the LORD and He will direct our paths. Verse 7 says we should not consider ourselves wise.

We must understand without God we can do nothing (John 15:5). Philippians 4:13 tells us, however, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. See how that works? We need God in our lives. We don’t take a breath without Him. This is why we must glorify Him.

This means we give an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. This means we treat others with kindness. This means we pray about all things and acknowledge God’s will for our lives.

We should honor God in the way we live our lives. We should do our best to imitate Christ (Ephesians 5:1). You may have heard it said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. We honor God when we imitate Him. It’s a great way to show our appreciation to Him for all He has done for us.

We should continually praise Him (Psalm 34:1-3). We should praise Him in good times and bad because we know even when we go through bad times God works it out for our good (Romans 8:28). We must learn to view hard times as a learning experience. Look at what God is trying to teach you during this time.

I have also come through hard times only to realize what I wanted and what God wanted for me were two different things. I thought it was bad because I didn’t get what I wanted, but later realized God had a much better plan for my life. He sees our future. He knows not only what we need today, but what we will need 10 years from now.

When you pray to God let Him know how much you adore Him. Let Him know how much you appreciate all He does in your life. Give thanks in all circumstances as we are instructed in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

The easiest way to bring God glory, honor and praise in all we do is to stay focused on Him. Don’t let your circumstances dictate how you live your life or how you treat others. Trust God with your circumstances and live your life in a way that pleases Him. Live in a way that helps others to see Christ in you.

Let’s be honest. We love to be complimented. We love to receive praise for a job well done right? Well, God does also.

And there is no human being that can do for us what God has already done. He has given us His Son so that if we accept Him and believe in Him, we may have eternal life (John 3:16). We can never repay what He has done for us.

But we can live for Him. We can speak and act in a way that brings glory, honor and praise to Him as we go throughout our day. Trust in Him, know He’s got your back and He is doing what is best for you. Focus on Him and do your best to imitate Christ. In doing so, you will be honoring your Creator. You will be glorifying your Creator and you will be bringing Him praise.

Have a great day!
