In God’s Hands

My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish-ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. The Father and I are one.     John 10:27-29 HCSB

Often times when we don’t know what else to say, we will say, “It’s in God’s hands.” Maybe what we should be saying, is, “Praise God, it’s in His mighty hands!” There’s no place better for us to be than in God’s hands. Think about what Jesus is saying in our Scripture passage for today.

He says His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. That’s us, we are His sheep if we are Christians who love the Lord. We are in constant communication with Him through Bible study and prayer.  We trust and obey Him. We follow His commands.

When we place ourselves in God’s hands, we may suffer a physical death here on earth. But if we have been saved, we will live forever in heaven with God the Father.

When we trust in God and love Him with all our hearts, souls and minds, we can be sure we are in His hands. Isaiah 41:10 says, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you up, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.

Most of us can still remember the Allstate commercial that says, “You are in good hands with Allstate.” I don’t know if that’s true, but I know when we place ourselves in God’s hands there is no better place to be.

When we place our lives in God’s hands, we must remember this is the same God who has laid the foundation of the earth. This is the same God who has spread out the heavens. This is the God whose voice can call to the heavens, and they stand forth together (Isaiah 48:13).

Life is uncertain, we never know what to expect. We can be here today and gone tomorrow. One thing we do know for certain is God is in control. He’s got this. He controls everything from the best Bible teaching pastors to false prophets and crooked politicians. His will is going to be done.

We should never be fearful of what is going on in the world. God is in control. We are not responsible for the evil and the wicked. We are to go out and make disciples of men. We are to plant seeds. We are responsible for what we do. We will stand in judgment for what we have done.

We must trust God in all things. When evil comes against us, trust in God. When the diagnosis is not what we had hoped for, trust in God. When our heart breaks for friends and family members that are unsaved, trust in God. When the world is in turmoil trust in God.

Once we surrender to Christ, no one can snatch us from His hand, not even the devil. There is no safer place to be. Even when things go wrong, we can rest assured He is working it out for our good (Romans 8:28).

His way is the best way. Surrender to Him and put yourself in His mighty hands today. Experience the peace and joy found there.

Have a great day!
