It’s Gonna Be All Right

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.        Romans 8:28 HCSB

In the moments of our deepest despair, it always seems as though there is that one person who wraps a loving arm around us and does their best to assure us that everything is going to be okay. If we believe this, we have hope. We can rest assured that no matter what we are facing, it will all work out for our good. Our scripture passage tells us that we know that all things work together for good.

But, we must remember that this is not where it stops. It goes on to say that things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose. Those of us who truly love the Lord want to do what the Lord has called us to do. We want to serve Him. We want to be in close relationship with Him. We do our best to live our lives in a way that brings Him glory and honor. We can be assured that even though we are suffering through a trial in our life that God is working it all our for our good.

Now, you might say, well what about the person who doesn’t love the Lord and does not live a life according to God’s purpose for their life? Well, there is no mention in the Bible about this person being able to have hope. As a matter of fact, the Bible is pretty clear on the fact that non-believers or those who have never accepted Christ as their Savior will face eternal damnation. When we accept Christ as our Savior and trust in Him, our names are written in the Lamb’s book of Life (Revelation 20:11-15).

Jeremiah 29:11 tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

We must remember that God wants good things for us. But, he never promises to bring us through this life without a little heartache and pain. He does, however, promise that it will all be okay. The worst thing that we can envision happening is that we die, but the best thing that can happen to a Christian is death. The physical death we will suffer here on earth when our soul is joined with our Lord and Savior in glory.

Our hope is in the LORD. Psalm 39:7, “And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.”

If you are in a period of trial and tribulation, know that God’s got this. Know that He is working this out for your good. I can look back on times when I just couldn’t see any good coming out of my situation, but God did. He worked it out. Things that I never thought would be okay, were all right. God made it right.

Know that He can do the same for you if you love Him and are willing to live your according to the purpose that He has called you for. If you are willing to surrender it all to Him, He is faithful to work it all out for your good. I know because I have been there, done that, and got the t-shirt.

You can also live a life knowing that God’s got your back. You can know beyond a shadow of a doubt that He will work all things out for your good. You only need to surrender it all to Him.

Have a great weekend!
