All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 HCSB
Do you believe everything that is written in God’s word? Or, do you pick and choose what you will believe? Now before you quickly answer this and say, “Oh yes, I believe everything written in God’s word!”, allow me to ask another question. Do you live as though you believe everything in God’s word?
Do you truly believe that God protects you if you choose to allow Him to do so as we are told in Psalm 91?
Do you truly believe that even the worst occurrences in your life, God will work out for your good if you only love Him, and trust Him and live according to His purpose as we are instructed in Romans 8:28?
Do you believe that God has good things planned for you and that He wants what is best for you as we are told in Jeremiah 29:11?
Do you believe that if we just keep our focus on God that He will take care of all our needs as we are told in Matthew 6:33?
Do you believe that it is useless to worry as we are told in Matthew 6:27?
Do you believe that Jesus was born in a lowly manger to a young virgin girl as we are told in Luke 2:7 and Matthew 1:18?
Did you answer yes to all of these questions or only some? You see if you believe our scripture passage today, then you answered yes to all of these questions. Answering yes is the easy part. My next question is are you living a life that shows others that you believe the Bible?
When we live as though we believe it is obvious to others because we are different or set apart from the world. We have a hope and a future just as God intended for us in Jeremiah 29:11. We know that worry takes our focus off of Him and is of no benefit to us as we learned in Matthew 6:27. We know that when we focus on Him that He provides all that we need and we have no need to worry (Matthew 6:33-34).
We know that He came to us through a miraculous virgin birth, was born in a lowly stable, was humble and surrendered His life for us so that we may have eternal life (John 3:16).
If a stranger were to look at your life would they see that you believe all of the Bible or that you try to just believe the parts that are convenient for you? Would they see a life of total surrender, or someone who clings to sin in their life? If we believe any part of the Bible, we must believe all of it.
If we are going to surrender our lives to Christ, we must surrender our whole life, not just parts and pieces.
God gave His all for us, He held back nothing. He continues to do so today. In His word, He provided all the information we need to live a godly life. And for those of us that can’t follow instructions, He gave real life examples. When we surrender all, we get more than we could imagine back. We can’t outgive God, we can’t even come close. But, we must give all.
There is nothing that I have given up to follow Christ that I miss. He has given me so much more. Trust in Him today. Give Him your all and experience all that He has to offer for you.
Have a great weekend!
