I am really amazed at all the panic that is taking place about this virus. I have not watched many of these newscast with federal, state and local officials, but of the ones I have seen not one has mentioned prayer. They talk about social distancing. They talk about “lockdowns” and “curfews”. But what about prayer? My friend this is the reason that we are in this mess today, a lack of prayer.

Prayer has been taken out of our schools and out of our governments and so here we are.

I haven’t heard any politician on any level encouraging prayer to combat this virus. Wow! It just leaves me shaking my head. We have gone from a nation founded on Biblical principles by God fearing men to a nation who is leaving God behind. It brings to mind, King Asa in 2 Chronicles. In chapter 15, Asa and his military had been blessed by God and were returning victoriously from a war. The Spirit of God came upon Azariah and he went out and told Asa that The LORD was with him while he is with the LORD. If he seeks him, he will be found by him, but if he forsakes the LORD, the LORD will forsake him. We are a nation who has forsaken God as far as the eye can see. It’s time to turn back to Him.

Saturday I featured the verses from 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 which are, “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land or send pestilence among my people, if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land. My friend if there was a time that our land needed healing it is right now.

Just yesterday as my family gathered, my nephew and his wife were speaking of how prayer was needed to end this.

If we leave this in the government’s hands it looks like we will be facing social and economical disaster. It’s time we give this over to God. It’s time we turn to Him and confess our sins and beg Him to heal our land. I am asking you to join me in doing so.

Our governor has declared a statewide “lockdown” or “Stay at home” order beginning at 5pm today. This means that if we obey his orders, we will have plenty of time on our hands. Rather than scrolling through the internet, watching the news or scrolling Facebook and fretting about what is going on, I am asking you to join me in praying to God to put an end to this virus and the insanity that it is causing. Let’s join together in confessing our sins, asking for God’s forgiveness and for His healing on our land. I am asking that at 7:14pm tonight and each night while we remain under this lockdown that you set an alarm on your phone and pray for healing. Why 7:14? Because I am asking that you include the scripture passage 2 Chronicles 7:14 in your prayer. The prayers of a righteous person are powerful, but they are even more powerful when we pray using God’s word. God tells them in 2 Chronicles 7:15 that if they will do as he instructed in verse 14 that His eyes will be opened and His ears will be attentive to their prayers.

So just to recap, I am asking you to set your alarms for 7:14pm daily. At this time, I am asking you to just take a minute and stop what you are doing and pray to God for healing on our land and for an end to this disaster being caused by this virus. I am asking you to pray in faith. I’m calling for all prayer warriors that know that God can put an end to this, to please join us in prayer and please spread the word! Thanks!
