You are from God, little children, and you have conquered them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
I have recently been seeing stickers on vehicles which simply read, HE>. Now, after doing a double take, I realized that if I thought back to my days of taking math that the symbol was for, is greater than. He is greater than, even though it took a minute I got it. So simple, but packing so much truth in that little sticker. He is greater than, you can fill in the blank. God is greater than anything we face.
Now there is a snappy little song that says, “greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” In order for you to truly experience His greatness though, the key is that He must be in your heart and in your soul and in your mind. Jesus tells His disciples in Matthew 12:30 that the most important commandment is that we love the Lord, our God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our mind. In John 15:9-10 Jesus says, “As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep My commands you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commands and remain in His love.” Matthew 6:33 tells us that if we focus on the kingdom of God and His righteousness, that all we need will be provided for us.
My friend, there is nothing greater than God. It is our choice as to whether we want to abide in Him and have Him abide in our hearts. It is up to us to ask Him to fill us with His Holy Spirit.
God is greater than the crime that is going on. God is greater than our government. God is greater than even the Coronavirus. So, you can fill in the blank, God is greater than anything you can imagine.
As a blood bought child of God, I can make this claim. He who is in me is greater than anyone or anything who is in the world. In 1 John 4:5-6, John cautions us with this, “They are from the world. Therefore what they say is from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Anyone who knows God listens to us; anyone who is not from God does not listen to us. From this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deception.”
We are facing some trying times. We are being told to practice social distancing. The news speaks of the trillions of dollars that need to be put into the economy in order to help it survive. I made a choice almost 10 years ago to give the mess I had made of my life over to God. I daily ask Him to fill me with His Holy Spirit. But, if I hadn’t already done so, I would definitely be doing so now.
If you haven’t established a close relationship with your Lord and Savior, there is no time like the present. I strongly encourage you to turn to Him and trust in Him. He is greater than anything in this world. I know that’s great news, but it gets better. He loves you and wants to take good care of you (Jeremiah 29:11). Won’t you trust in Him and allow Him to do that today?
Have a great day!
