In fact all those who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Evil people and impostors will become worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believe. You know those who taught you, and you know that from childhood you have known the sacred Scriptures, what are able to give you wisdom for salvation trough faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking and correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 timothy 3:12-16 HCSB
If you are trying to live for God in these days, you know that at times it is hard to do. You know that the devil tries to distract you and place obstacles in your path. But you also know that God’s word provides all that we need for survival. If you need instructions on handling any type of situation, it’s in the bible. It tells us how to handle conflicts. It tells us how to prepare for spiritual warfare. It tells us how to conduct ourselves with others. It tells us how to be good wives and husbands and children and employees. It tells us how to worship. It tells us what not to do. It tells us how to tithe. And for those of us who don’t get it by simply reading scripture, we are given examples of those who did things correctly and those who destroyed their own lives through disobedience.
I’ve heard people say many times that children don’t come with an instruction manual, but this is really not true. While a baby may not come out clutching a bible, the bible does instruct us on how to be good parents. I love topical bible search websites like openbible.info. You can type any topic in the search bar and it will give you verses on that topic.
The biggest problem most of us have is our own intelligence. We like to think that we are smart enough to handle our own problems. Well, God will give us wisdom and discernment, but we need to pray to Him when we have a problem and trust in Him to fix it. I don’t know about you, but when I try to solve a problem without God’s help, I just make it worse.
As you read this today, I have no idea what you may be going through in your own personal life, but I know that God can pull you through. He has pulled me through many hard times. I also know that His Word will guide you along the right path. Our pastor always says that when we pray it is us talking to God and when we read His word, it is God talking to us. If you are doing all of the talking and none of the listening, you will have problems. Take time to study God’s word. Listen and hear what it is saying to you. Trust in Him to handle whatever life is throwing your way.
Remember that if you are a Christian, you will face persecution, but you will face it with God’s protection to keep you safe (Psalm 91:1-16). Know that in these end times evil people and impostors will become worse, but you can be protected from them. If you continue in your faith and stay strong in the word, God will help you handle whatever comes your way. And never forget that God’s word is the only defensive weapon mentioned in Ephesians 6. Verse 17 tells us to take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s word is sharper than any double-edged sword. If you want to diffuse a heated situation or an argument, use God’s word. I have tried it and I can assure you it works!
Whatever you are facing, it is covered in the bible. Our bibles are like very detailed instruction manuals for our lives. I assure you, if you need help in any situation it’s in there. Don’t turn to others that may lead you astray, turn to God and His holy word for whatever situation you may be facing.
Have a great day!
